Ok, this is very weird. Are DJI and Xaircraft the same?

hmmmm......is that site an official XAircraft site?

looking at the WKM stuff, i thought the WKM couldn't do an Okto or X-8?

It appears to be someones blog site, this site looks more "official" http://www.xaircraft.com/

DJI can do Octo and X8 in the latest firmware release but you'll need to use Futaba SBus to be able to do 8 motors and control a camera mount.

I think if you check um out there in the same commercial district of the same town! So guess they swap notes over a beer now and again!

Just found this. infmetry sells everything from mouse pads with bacon and eggs to plastic bobbly boob dolls to Xaircraft to DJI??? WTF. The red flag I see here is that the factories that sell this cheap chinese stuff have very poor QC. I was thinking of getting one of the WOOKong's but I just cant bring myself to spend $1000+ on something made in a a rubber dog poop factory. Is there no hope for an American made FC? tears...

A little offensive, windhorny. You might learn something about China manufacturing before blindly following the party line that "made in China is BAD, made in USA is GOOD" ;)

OK, on that note, i would not feel comfortable buying an american made FC that came from a company that specialized in making plastic toys. It's no different. The company makes plastic toys. Don't you feel a little unsettled that such a high tech piece of electronics comes from a plant that does not specialize in electronics? I am from the US, therefore I take pride in my country. it is a HUGE issue outsourcing everything to another country. If we made $.01 for every "made in china" sticker that got imported we might be out of debt. Our country was built on innovators that put our own people first for jobs. This is not a racist issue as you would like to make it seem. This is a matter of feeding home first. I realize that our economy has become much more global than it used to be and this is just the way it is. But having everything come from China is like saying we can not do the same or better here. And that strikes a seriously sensitive nerve with me as a manufacturer and business owner. Everything comes from China for one reason, it is CHEAP! that is the only reason. The clever person who comes up with this stuff can no longer afford to have things made at home, be it here or another country. We are programmed to believe that if we can make a marketable product we should go to China to have it mass produced. As the financial tides slowly shift we will see the effect loud and clear in our life times. Take this however you choose.

i'm wondering if infmetry is a distributor like amazon is and not really the manufacturer. i know dji has been making helicopter autopilots for years and they're well respected in the RC community as a result. i don't know what the XA guys were doing before multi-rotors came along.

Wait what? I thought Infmetry is an online shop. They are not the manufacturer.
If you want FC that is made in USA, get hoverfly. The GPS board should be release in ... days time. It may not as good as DJI WKM but it is made in USA.
