The flight times and the wind tolerance is quite remarkable and yes, the penny dropped over the right way to mount the motors. http://www.skyranger.com/
If the specs are true, it's a remarkable little monster.....but seeing all the military stuff, I guess the price will be equal to a nice little motor boat.
......wondering if the upside-down mounting of the morors makes any difference (noticable, not academical) or is it just for the ease of transport........
I mounted the motors on my large hexa upside down, measured the current draw while in a stable hover and then did the same measurement with the motors right way up. I got no difference in current draw at the same hover which makes me think that there is no saving in power consumption with the motors upside down.
Isn't this the same company that supplied quads to the Libyan rebels when they were trying to out Gaddafi? I think that it was even the same model, just a few years older.
