Hello
I am a long time RC flyer that has a little bit of time on heli's. I was looking into doing fpv and thought that the multirotors would be the best for me since I am not a speed freak. I was thinking that I would start out with a tricopter or quad and then upgrade to the fpv (GoPro camera) system. My problem is that funds are a little limited and would like to keep this simple. I am a good scratch builder and figured that I could DIY the frame and motor mounts. I also figured that building a larger/longer arm frame would be best for me. I like taking this type of thing low and slow.
Now my questions:
Thanks in advance.

Now my questions:
- Is the tricopter good for a fpv platform? I saw a great video on RCUniverse using the tricopter.
- Can you recommend an up to date build thread on the proper lower end purchases? I was thinking that I could upgrade later to a Y6 if more lift was needed for the fpv system.
- I was thinking of starting out with a KK or multiwii system. Best place to buy these or other types of boards prebuilt? No way that I could build a board from scratch. There are so many web sites that I am getting confused on what is the most up to date info.
- Anyone from W. PA or E. OH that would let me come by to see your setup? I do not know of anyone locally flying these.
Thanks in advance.
