Hi guys, I am new here and wanted to say hi and ask a question...

I just bought a DJI 450 Kit (waiting for it to arrive) and I wil start on the build as soon as it is here, I also have a Futaba 8JA Radio coming. I do not have the DJI Naza Flight controller due to lack of funding, so my question is.... are these Multi Rotors easy to operate?

Many moons ago I had nitro powered heli's, a couple of fixed wing trainers and even a battery powered Heli. So I am not a stranger to RC, but I am also no expert... In fact I probably would not call myself anything any longer LOL.

If anyone has some pointers they could share with me, advice or a free DJI Naza I would appreciate it. Ok, the Naza is asking a little bit too much. :dread:

You shouldn't have too much in the way of problems. They are pretty easy to fly, especially with a Naza.

It's like riding a bicycle, it will all come back to you pretty quick.

The real dificult part is orentation. Just take your time, keep it close until you grow comfortable.

Yeah, good luck with the free Naza.

Thank you for the advice.. the free Naza was worth a try. I think I might have to find the cash to get the Naza in the VERY near future... with GPS. I have watched youtube video after you tube video, so far I am impressed by the Naza. Got to get my sticky fingers on one of them.

I do have other questions now also...

Battery, I see these accept a 3c or 4c Lipo, any make do or should I avoid certain brands? Suggestions?
Materials, Will I need to buy other materials to complete my setup? Plugs, wire etc?

I have a soldering station that I know I will need, but I have seen people soldering on plugs to the main board. I am not really sure that is something I want to do, because if it gets knocked, it could pull the tabs off of the board. I presume most of you guys would use a pigtail and a connector suited to the battery you will be using?

I have seen some Lipo batteries around Turnigy Nano-Tech Lipo 4S 5000mAh 14.8v 25-50C for around $65. Any good?

Just found the funding for the Naza... got it for $203, could not pass that one up. Next year I will get the GPS Mod for it. So much to do now... lol

Hey guys...hi from Cyprus...new to the forum as well...I'm going to start building my S800 and i was wondering which shall i buy..NAZA or WKM??? I know there main differences but i was thinking to get the NAZA and after i get some money from aerial photography to upgrade to something bigger..Any suggestions ??? Thanks

The S800 is a ot of money which seems to warrant the commercial grade WKM versus Naza. WKM keeps your options wide open as does the S800. Naza cannot allow you to send on a waypoint mission and/or circle a defined hot spot. Otherwise they are quite similar in functionality.
