New Zealand Multi flyin - Hamilton Sept 24th

I'm lucky that I back onto a park in town... and Matwelli (who lives 350Km south) needed to catch up with a customer (Pat) from Auckland (130Km north) so they met at my place for a fly:cool:

The weather was good... with occasional wind, enough to make us work at it. Stacky also came down from Auckland, Wayne from Rotorua (120Km east) and finally Ivan (Openpilot CC programmer) from Cambridge 20 minutes away.

6 pilots, 12 machines including tris, quads, V-quads, Y6, hex and Mat's V-octo. Damn it's ugly :p

There was a definite workshop assistance feel to the day. My 8-person table wasn't big enough... With electricity, coffee, a mown field and a coffee shop 5 minutes away, it was an awesome day.

Thanks for coming to fly on MY field
There was almost no carnage - Stacky trimming the tree and breaking one prop was the only damage.

Here's a couple of shots from the team.

Very cool to finally get to meet you Mat. You need to take some time off from running around after the rest of us and build yourself your own very cool machine so you can spend more time enjoying yourself flying.
Im planning a trip to the Naki sometime over the xmas break to catch up with old friends, will drop by and annoy you around then.

Nothing to be proud about!

Awesome day guys.

@Stacky - I nearly photo-shopped your finger down in the group photo but I was feeling pretty lazy last night... ;)

I have had it finished for 2 hours and every time I try to create the final file, it crashes... at 65%. Swearing doesn't help!

It is a mixture of the Gopro and the .mts files from my Panny SD9. I've done this combo before... but it won't work tonight!
Yes I have restarted the pc, moved files off the usb server onto the C drive, Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 hates me!

I'll save each of the 15 cut files as AVIs and start again...

It looked good too :( You are going to have to wait.

Hey - it might be that it doesn't like your ugly V-Octo images! Yup, that's it.

...Getting there. It doesn't like my 50fps I shot all day :(

Nicely done Pete, next time I will bring everything down. That video doesn't show how windy it was. Im impressed with your camera work, you did well with the zoomed in shots. From your footage everything looked relatively stable in the air but at the time i thought my v-tail was very wobbly. How long till your kid has one in the air?, too many old farts doing this stuff. BW Ive decided to make use of those BC-3542/5 1250kv motors. they are going on a huge Y6 just for the sheer hell of it. Should be able to lift a cat or small dog.

Thanks - it's only the 2nd time I've used the SD9 camera. I bought it 2nd-hand to strap under the hex. I also had the wind-cut filter enabled on the camera which did block some of the wind noise :)

Dad/daughter quad pretty soon I think... I have a quad on the sim now so I'll get her training. I might let her start on the hex since it is such a stable *****cat to fly.

If you lift a cat, you will never hear your low-volt alarm! I'm not sure how well it will work with those props underneath... I wanna video that!
