New WKM. IMU V1 or V2

Do the new WKM's come with the v2 IMU or is this still required to be upgraded?

You may wish to confirm with your DJI Dealer, but it is my understanding that the "boxed" new WKM are shipped with V1 (plastic) imu.
Interestingly though, all those I know that sent one in for service were shipped out V2 IMU with the "replacement" WKM.

Yes, I need to check.

But why would they do that? Purchase a new WKM and then send it back paying more for the new version.

There must be something different other than the aluminium case

I do not think they have any "plastic: versions to send out with the "repairs/ replacements" so they are sending the V2.
The V2 has a metal case and added "internal vibration isolation".
They added these features due to vibration issues with their frames.
High quality frames with mfg. provided "clean plates" vibration isolation have always worked very well with WKM V1.
I have (3) V1 ... 2 dating back to the "original" version... they all fly perfect.
