New flyer from Yorkshire

Hi Everyone,

My name is Martin and i've just purchased a DJI F450 kit with naza gps and the H3-2D gimbal and also a Fr Sky Taranis to fly it with. I have a little experience with flying small helis, nothing spectacular, can hover and do simple circuits with my mcpx and honeybee.
Hoping to get the quad built and learn to fly then hopefully going to go FPV in the near future. I have a friend who already flies quads so I'm hoping i can get his help with the initial set up.
My one worry is losing the heli, what are people using to overcome this? Is there something out there i can fit to enable me to find it if it all goes wrong? I can't afford to buy a new one if this one goes missing.

Martin.

Hi Martin and welcome to MRF.

I personally don't have any trackers on my systems but do have a very loud battery alarm which I really recommend you get. There are sim based devices on ebay you can get but that all depends if its got a phone signal!

Good luck

Easy? You call that easy?
Welcome! As Dave said, don't worry about it getting away from you. Just keep an eye on it and you'll be fine.

Happy New Year!

Hello Martin and welcome to the site!

Just so you know, your thread titles won't all have to rhyme like that. :)

Haha, UK and USA, two countries divided by a common language. It took me a second to work out why you thought it rhymed but then realized that in the US you guys pronounce shire as it is written (or rhyming with fire or indeed flyer!) when over here it is pronounced more like shur especially in Yorkshur!

Lol, yes i had to think for a moment then about the rhyme.

Thanks for the replies, i was thinking of adding a stripped down iphone with the find my phone app as i believe this uses gps as oppossed to a network signal.

Martin.
