Naza/Phantom problem solved

After an hours drive to shoot a small job I was somewhat surprised when one of my Phantoms started playing up. At first it would not arm and then finally the motors started and I lifted off. However when I tried to go back or forward, or Left or Right, no response at all. All it would do is go up and down. So I used the spare one to do the job.

I then found that the problem was due to the mag. being fitted too close to the Roll Motor on the 3 axis gimbal. (Slightly closer than a standard Phantom/2axis) During the journey the gimbal which uses slightly larger Tarot motors was swinging around and changing the mag. calibration. I covered the mag with some NITTO sheet and all was well again after an advanced recalib. in the software.

So if that happens to you then it is probably due to a magnetic field that got too close. The phantom has the mag on the U/C leg but if your mag. is inside the puck then it is a good idea to shield it.
