NAZA M Lite maiden help

Hi is there anyone out there that could help me out. I've just tried to fly my Naza (first flight) and it just got 20cm off the ground and tried to turn over. I've checked everything but I can't find the problem! It is too unstable for flight. When it does stay off the ground for about 3 seconds it seems to turn a lot. I have a 9xr and fr-sky reciever

Hi Brian, welcome to the forum!

Have you ever flown anything before?
If you really want help you're going to have to supply mo info bro…

Tx/Rx/naza all communicating?
What kind of esc are you using?
If there not dji opto's, have all the esc"s been calibrated to your Tx?
Everything is calibrated properly in assistant?
Props on right way?
Made sure to get high enough to get out of prop wash?
Have you ever flown anything before?

pictures are a big help too.

all this info keeps the other guys and gals from questioning your piloting skills or that you're not sure what to expect on take off....

Mr take no prisoners!
If everything is set correctly a multi with a Naza should be super stable, if it is not then you have something wrong in the build, you will just have to go back over everything til you find what you did wrong.

Best thing to do is to start posting up photos of the beasty and include shots of all the wiring, props, etc. Video is also very helpful in diagnosing problems.

okay guys I will post photos of it and maybe a video soon. basically today this is what happened. okay so after getting some spare time and nice weather I decided to fly my naza after checking all the stick settings and mode settings were correct. I have the 3 point switch set to atti-gps-manual. in every mode for some reason it kept trying to shoot forward. I had the elevator pulled fully back in order to get it to atleast hover but all it did was allow it to go forward slowly. its uncontrollable, i've had it a long time now and I haven't even got the chance to fly it. When I tried to just let the throttle up slowly to get it off the ground without pulling fully back on the elevator it just did a front flip and turned upside down. any ideas? I'm very dissapointed with this naza. if there is someone who could help I'd really appreciate it. I will post pictures later

also my set up is as follows
9xr mode 2 with fr-sky D8R-II Plus and DJT Module
Multistar 20 AMP esc's (which I think come pre calibrated)
everything seems to be calibrated in the assisant.
the only other thing I had was a 450 quad with KK board and this flew like a dream in comparison to the new naza I have.

I don't see anything obviously wrong in your build. I can't quite tell in the video what your LED color is -- what flight mode are you in (ATTI, GPS, or Manual?). Assuming you are in ATTI or GPS, your gains may be too low. What are your gain settings?

ok so to be completely honest I don't know anything about gains or limits. but I can see that it is set on default in the NAZA M Lite assisant software.. it seems to be 100% on everything.
in the video I was in ATTI-GPS-MANUAL in that order. This Multirotor isn't flying well at all. It's uncontrollable. If someone is available to skype or facetime me to see what the problem is I'd be really greatful. I've had this Naza for over 2 months now and I still haven't been able to enjoy it.
thanks everyone

Okay I'll try that tomorrow morning. But is this not a bit out of the ordinary? Could it maybe be the settings on the 9XR? I remember when I had the KK board quadcopter and the turning 5x and my younger cousin had changed all the settings and same as this it was uncontrollable to fly but I found out it was because it was in a delta mode instead of fixed wing. Could there be a similar setting in the 9xr? What mode (if any) do I have to put it in?

Good question. I don't know anything about your radio. The way to make sure you are not having radio issues is to test using the NAZA assistant software. Calibrate the sticks in the assistant, then move one at time and make sure nothing else is moving along with it (classic example is a radio set up for heli flying that mixes throttle). That's the main thing right now. Also check that sticks are moving in the right direction (down/up should be left/right in the assistant, left/right should be, naturally, left/right). For now, just stick it in ATTI mode and leave it there. Manual and GPS flight modes are only going to complicate things for now.

okay guys so I basically deleted my model 01 because I knew the fault had to be within there somewhere. When I set up a new model everything seemed to work fine in flight. I was able to calibrate my compass. Atti mode was fine, gps mode was ok- I got a single flashing green light and manual was fine too. But it still seems untuned? It drifts around alot during flight, especially in gps mode. Is there some setting that I am missing? oh also I changed all of the basic gains to 150. any other suggestions?
thanks so much guys!

Can we see a video of it in the air in GPS mode? Make sure we can see the LED and that there is no radio/stick movement. I want to see how much it moves around. Now that the radio issue is cleared up the gains may need adjusting.

Okay so I got it in GPS mode after that flight. I think it wasn't very accurate earlier because it was beside buildings. This time I took it up the field. For the RTH feature how do I mark the home point?
