Hi All,
New to the forum and the Multi-Copter world and need some help finding a fitting system -- my experience with them is limited to homemade ones that my friends made.
As a bit of background: I am just starting my master's degree in ocean engineering at the University of Rhode Island and my thesis will be dependent upon a multi-rotor. The project is to monitor harmful algal blooms (such as those that cause red tide) in inter-tidal areas using a multi-rotor and compare results to those collected by persons on the ground.
The multi-rotor will be fitted with a high precision GPS in order to synchronize images with time and position data. It's looking like the camera right now will be the Garmin VIRB Elite (pretty nifty little camera -- GPS, Accelerometer and Altimeter built in). There will be an external processor on-board to handle the GPS/Camera sync and data-logging. We would love to have a runtime of 15-20 minutes, if not longer:friendly_wink:. As this will be used in coastal areas where wind is dominant, as stable airframe is a must.
I've been looking at the SkyJib-8 and SkyJib-X4 and was wondering if the X4 motor configuration was noticeably more stable than the horizontal 8. Also been looking at the S800 Evo and Okto XL 6S12.
If anyone has any suggestions for my system, it would be greatly appreciated!
Best Regards,
Jordan
