Multi esc board vs individual esc's discussion.

What are the pros and cons here? Also, what brand are you using?

I guess if you blow a board you are out a grand vs blowing one esc @ $50.

I would think there is a substantial weight and space savings with a board.

No need for power distribution with a board.

What else?

Seems Mikrokopter was the first or one of the first to move in this direction of a single ESC/PDB board, taking it out of the free market competition cycle.
But keep in mind that Mikrokopter has since implemented some advance features not available in the other individual ESCs.
This is the dynamic braking concept which pushes energy back in to the batteries during Multirotor motor deceleration.
And that breaks up the continuous discharge cycle which is always a good thing for battery electrochemistry.

The other benefits of the single PDB/ESCs board is there are builtin BECs for simple and quick connection of Multirotor LED lighting.

Keep in mind that someone has now developed individual ESCs designed that are long and slim so that they fit inside of the Multirotor motor tubes....

I have seen the slim profile esc's. I would be worried about heat if they were inside the arms. A couple flights I'm sure there would be no issues but what if you were flying all day? That certainly concerns me.
