motor mount opinions and question

i haven't played with enough frames to know about what difference there is between how motors are mounted to the frame arms.

what, if any, advantages are there over mounting the motor directly on top of the frame arm(eg cinestar) versus mounting it off the end of the frame arm (eg carbon core or vulcan). i'm curious if one is less prone to vibes or general movement/play at the mount.

i have a carbon core frame and must say i'm not really loving how the motors mount off the end of the arm. and i am interested in a vulcan frame but have trepidation about the same style of motor attachment to the arm.

not a concern either way as long as it is rigid. Some may claim the square arm influences the airflow. I say hogwash! Droidworx has some nice airflow caps that go on top of round arms to smooth the airflow. I suppose, theoretically, the airflow could cause vibrations since the restriction of flow is only on one side. But this wasnt your question. The motor position doesnt matter at all. Now if you were running a coaxial setup I might argue that the distance between motors can potentially affect the harmonics between the 2 and cause massive vibrations. But it's yet to be seen. Those Vulcan frames look nice.
