Motor Balancing Device

This item can be positionon on your MR motor arm and be connected directly to your PC.

With this you can utilize your PC full screen size for analyzing motor balance/vibration issues.
With the right software tools such as MS Excel polar plotting etc. you could more quickly and accurately rebalance each motor.
There are also 3rd party options for using your computer screen as an Oscilloscope making it possible to do much more with this.:tennis:

Is it not easier to just put your mobile phone on the quads arm, and use the seismic vibration app to monitor the vibes?

There is one optimum and fast way to balance motors.
1) It requires polar coordinate graphing to quickly and accurately determine the exact position where weight needs to be added.
2) It also tells you precisely how much weight to be added one time only.
3) A PC oscilliscope program can directly link to an accelerometer and data can be exported in csv format into MS Excel spreadsheet...... all exceptionally good options for faster and more accurate work.

A smart phone does not allow for these capabilities..... takes a long time to approximate the low weight position and you have to continually re-estimate the weight needing to be added.
So to do all 8 motors on an Octocopter will take 8 hours by means of smart phone app or less than 3 using the dynex balancing tools.

The dynex balancing system is good but provides a lot of additional capabilities that the MR user does not require.
Now if Dynex would just mass produce their product faster to keep up with demand....

I'm sure that is the best way to do it, but it does sound rather like overkill to me!

How about a laser pointer attached to your motor arm via a clamp of some sort.activate the laser, watch the beam. If it's all wonky then your motor is out of whack. If it remains a distinct dot the your golden. If it's unbalanced use tape or a zip tie or whatever on your motor housing and spin up. Keep making adjustments until the dot is as defined as possible. Whallah. Motor balanced.
