Mixing Different Quality Propellers on Hexa / Octo / Coax ?

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried mixing different quality propellers on Hexa / Octo / Coax setups?

For example, using half Graupners and half XOARs so you can have the advantages of both. I was just thinking if coax setups are using different sizes on top and bottom, why couldn't a combination of wood and fiberglass reinforced plastic propellers work?

hmmm don't really see where you would have advantages on a flat setup ? I personally think it would bring a lot of hiccups in the whole setup. Some props having less weight than others resulting in them adopting faster to RPM changes than the heavier ones, wouldn't know if the FCs would be able to compensate for it, only if you play with the mixer. Than again the question if you get it right or even possible with the way the specific mixer works etc.

Noramally also on coax setups as far as i have seen you try to keep the props to the same brand and size and change the pitch or lets say it like that most common seen in this way.

But like said wouldn't know were there could be any advantage ?

I just thought since we are paying $1000 for flight controllers they should be handling all the motors separately and be able to compensate automatically. I understand what you mean and dialing in the right mixer settings, I was ordering a bunch of different props and thought maybe someone had tried it. Might have to have go at it myself just for curiosity's sake.

What FC?

I just use the same props top and bottom on my three Coax, 2 Y6 and the new Skyjib Light X4. All have the WKM. I would have thought in the mixer set up they have made to necessary adjustment to the mixers. In the MK you change the mixer table to suit the set up so prop sizes should stay the same..

I have tried 10 / 11" mix but I get the best filght s and battery performance with same top and bottom

Droider, just FCs in general.

Sidenote: I remember in my drag racing tuning days we had mixing tables for each cylinder and each injector to fine tune cars. All I need now is a multirotor dyno setup in my room =]

On a Caox setup there were a lot off guys especially with a MK Fc that mixed props, top bottom. Sorry about being so negative about it before, but i though you were mainly talking about flat configurations where I consider it to be more a hassle than bringing any benefit !
