I am trying to figure out the max amp capabilities of the dji f550 board, the reason I ask, I am in the middle of upgrading my 550 to end up as a 800, and as I am doing this I am trying to figure out prop size, I am going to mount tigger 3515 motors and with the 14 in prop I pretty confident I am OK but I am wondering if I throw 15inch props on it will it be OK with amps.

So I am very curious does any one know the specs on the power distribution plate and the max amps it is designed for.

cheers Jack

I have a F550 stretched with 11" props and 2814 motors, I'd love to see how you made yours an 800! I don't have the answer to your amp question, but I wonder this too.

Good news I got my answer and the board can accommodate over 250amp at one time. As of making the f550 to a 800, I am getting the conversion parts from Skyrover.us. Basically they have a bracket, that I have seen which cleverly and seamlessly mounts to the f550 or f450 just as is. Then you can take custom size carbon fiber tube arms and mount motors at the end. Skyrover has also produces a puck like motor mount similar to that of the Droidworx.

Their site is in the midst of completion. If you go there click on the contact link where you will find an email and number to the person you need to talk with. Like in the Blues Brothers - talk with Bob.

They have been focusing on making a complete line of products, from camera mount (where they started) to conversion kits, to some of their own frames. Most of the product are made with high end material, and mainly produced by them in the USA.

I plan on making another post probably towards the end of next week where I will also start a feed so people can see how it all comes out, I actually can't wait, the components are straight up solid. Hoping to see it eliminate the majority of the vibration I am getting from the copter now. I have a s800 and that also has been problem to say, however more then anything else, if you think f550 has vibration then the S800 equally vibrates as it grows in size.

Although I love the design, I believe the materials they use flex way to much, resulting in vibration resignating all with way down the frame which makes it hard to shoot videos.

cheers

Thanks for your response and info! I sent him an email to see if he would sell me a set for my F550. I notice the F550 arms flex allot with the extensions I have, and makes me worried to use 12" props, so I'm using 11"
