Looking into getting into this hobby

Hi all I'm from the UK and have been looking at these multi rotors for about a month now. I've got no experience in rc flying but hope I can pick this up if I do it properly.
I've been looking at a dji f450 with naza and GPS. I'm not looking to do this in a week either as I don't want to go cheap on the radio, looking at a dx8 with ar8000 so I can use the naza GPS to its full capability.
Any other suggestions to help me out would be much appreciated, also want to know if I'm diving in to deep as I have no experience with rc flying?
Thanks for you help

Aye Up Chris.. Welcome to MRF.

You may want to follow this thread as well as Faffer is about at the same stage as yourself

http://www.multirotorforums.com/sho...DEVO-10-or-Spekturm-New-build-and-notice-user

As for not doing anything RC thats where I was almost 3 years ago.. Loads of guys on here came to multis in the same boat. So as I said in the above thread have a good read in th Newbie section and come back and ask away. As far as a first multi I recon your on to a good un with the one you have semi specced.

Enjoy the forum

I've been watching your build videos of your x4 and it looks like you've been at it hell of a lot longer ha
I'm gunna have a look through that thread now
I've also seen a lot of people saying about buying cheap and ending up having to spend more in the long run and that's something I want to avoid.
Is quadcopter.co.uk the only good supplier or is there any others you could tell me about?
Thanks

dont save on transmiter , batteries and charger since you will be sorry later on. 6 chanels in not enough.

If you read the the link I sent you will see where I stand on the matter of suppliers in the UK. There are some gooduns out there who are building some bloody great machines, you dont really here much about them as they are so busy building biguns, and quality machines, the down side of that is that the quick buck merchants move in from other RC backgrounds and claim to be RC gods, well they may be in Plans, cars, boats, submarines BUT they most certainly aint in the world of MR's. Stick to the ones who have only ever dealt in multi rotors and you wont go far wrong.. oh and double check whoever you are buying from have a trading address and not just a registered office. Believe it or not there are clone frames out there you would not touch with a barge pole, there are also clone dealers to!

You takes you pick and you pay your money.. I know where I spend mine, I do not suffer fools gladly. I was new to this three years ago and have been ripped left right and centre by UK and eurpoean dealers. I am wiser now and the quick buck guys dont get a look in even if they are cheaper.

Sorry.. I am repeating myself again today!

If in doubt ask on here.

Ok so il go with quadcopters.co.uk as they seem to be recommended alot.
Really looking forward to this new project but it'll be a slow one as I've gotta save first
In the mean time I suppose I can spend my time researching things
Thanks chris

Chris, this is a forum based on helping others not get rogered, and where people can post in harmony without trolls and gremlins hacking everyone off. Its a tranquil place most of the time though we have had out debacles but its very very rare we have to ban considerate users. (other than spammers)

In fact I can only think of two in two years..

As I have said put stuff in a wish list rather than a basket for at least a week before you press buy! In that week really look at whats in there!
