looking for some insight on gains

Just out of curiosity and so i can do a better job of tuning, Basic gains are Roll, Pitch, Yaw, Vertical ? Attitude has 2 Pitch and Roll? .... what exactly is the definition of attitude. does vertical gain basically refer to the altitude hold ability. Should my attitude pitch/roll generally be the same value? If i am to map these gains to my TX which should i group together would pitch, roll, yaw and vertical be on same slider attitude 2 on another?
Thanks alot, i can tune the hell out of my 3gx on my helis, but it offers me an explanation on what each gain is going to correct lol, yes roll pitch and yaw a self xplanitory but the attitude ones i don t get

I second that. Some insight with what the gains are and what they do would be awesome.
How are they helping the performance?
Can't I make the same adjustments by just tweaking the Dual Rate /Expo in the transmitter?
Thanks

I get that the basic gains are the sensitivity for the controller on 3 axis, but the attitide gains. I will just have to wait and mess with em when i get my motor
