Loc-tite on Prop studs

I've recently used a little dab of blue 242 Loctite. Removing the stock props has not been an issue. That said, I used a dab of 242 when I installed a set of Graupners. The props were impossible to remove by hand. I got a pretty good cut from trying to hold the prop & motor steady while turning the nut with a wrench (these props are like exacto blades!). Finally, I had to gently grip the motors with a padded vice-grip in order to loosen and remove the nuts. Even then, the Graupners themselves didn't want to come off. Though I didn't cause any visible damage, I hate the idea of having to apply pressure to the motor housing. Based on this, I will not be using Loctite again.

I've considered switching over to star washers but was concerned that they would dig into the motors soft aluminum face. Glad to hear it is working for some.

With the stock DJI motors, I assume that any M8 lock washer would work fine. Probably prefer an internal star (vs external type?).

I've read many times that props should never be attached too tightly, but have never read how to properly tighten one down. My usual mode of operation is to tighten until something snaps, then back off 1/8 of a turn. ;)

A lot depends on how hot the motors run. If the plastic softens then it's a problem. I once has an issue with general purpose resin on epoxy props for pylon racers. You need the right stuff.
