You could probably beef up the breaker that handles the outlets in the garage and be ok. Sub panel gets more complicated.

I'd like a ride in that car! :)

the car is totally derelict but it's the sentimental value that keeps it around. i think there are some circuits that are very lightly loaded so maybe I'll be able to open up a couple of spots in the panel for a 220 circuit in the garage. i'd rather buy a Mig kit for my Tig welder than a whole new welder just to do body work.

you're always welcome to come down and help bang panels together! payment in propellors and motors of course!

Sentimentality is what makes for great projects!

I'll help if I can for sure. I think you can probably do all the welding you need with the TIG, no? I'd think using the MIG would make for ugly seams on bodywork. Or at least more work grinding it down to be flush.
