Once I got past the inital problems with GCS not working right on the first laptop I installed it on I was able to get the CC board setup and working on 425 mm Gaui upgrade frame, this one... http://www.rcdude.com/servlet/the-1951/HoverThings-VC-dsh-20-Frame-Upgrade/Detail
This is the same frame I was using with a KK controller and had previously tried with the Quadrino board. The Quadrino couldn't be setup to work with the ESC's that were on the frame so the KK was reinstalled and the Quadrino went on another frame with Turningy Plush ESC's where it works quite well.
First flight attempts were done after swapping the CC for the KK board and doing the setup and calibration of the CC board. Not surprisingly, to me anyway, it flew like crap wobbling, weaving and yawing all over the place. I get it now, those ESC's do not play nice with flight controllers that do more than just basic flight. Having gotten that far I broke the quad down and rebuilt it using another set of Turningy Plush ESC's and Flycam 925 motors. Went through setup again making sure to reset the neutral start of the motors which turned out to be at a lower setting than the other ESC's.
First flight with this setup was better than the first attempt but still pretty crappy, at least it had enough control to be able to do some basic flight. Thinking the 10 inch props might be a bit too much for an airframe of this size I swapped them out for a fresh set of Gaui 8 x 4.5 props. Next attempt was a huge improvement, I was actually able to fly around without having to be constantly correcting with the sticks just to keep it in the air. Not perfect but close enough to be flyable for the most part, now I just need to get it setup so I can turn off stable mode and fly it in rate to see what it can really do. Stable mode works well, at least as well as the Hoverfly Pro board, not nearly as good as an MK or even the Quadrino at this point but then again I haven't had any chance to try dialing in the setup yet so that may improve some once I do.
Overall for what I believe is beta software it works and is flyable. Once I have a chance to test it in both modes I'll have a much better idea of what it can really do but so far I think it's quite good for the initial release.
