iOSD and 25mW video Tx help

Hi Guys! New to this group but you guys seem pretty knowledgeable, I hope you can help.

I'm in the UK and building up my S900 with A2, Z15-GH4 and iOSDmkii. I have a question about video transmitters. Being in Europe I'm limited to a 25 mW and they all seem to be for 3-4s systems.

Anyone using this set up or got any clues what the best/easiest/lightest solution might be?

Thanks in advance. M

The Immersion 25mw I bought can take up to 6s direct input as can be seen in the photo. I think most shops in UK sell these. Ask someone at the shop to double check though as I note a couple of shops are stating that it can only go to 16v.

Nice one, thank you. Mine just arrived today, and indeed, on the packaging it says 6s! Every place I saw selling it has 4s max in their descriptions. Bizarre!

I'm confused by this 25mw limit. Surely you won't get much of a signal with that? Mines 200mw and I get a good signal up to around 200 meters with it, and then it starts to break up.

Joseph, 25mw is the legal limit so flying your 200mw is against the law. The scary bit: if you get caught they can impose a hefty fine and confiscate all associated kit I believe. The reality: how you would ever get caught, I don't know and Ofcom have all but said that they are not very interested. However some of us are sticklers and so 25mw is the limit we stick to.

Well they would need a good reason to do anything about it. If it happened to interfere with something. But even then they couldn't just come along and take everything off of you.

It would have to go to court first before kit was taken from you I would think but that's not really the point. The point really being that over 25mw is illegal.

Adding to my last, the vast majority of operators in the UK do not stick to 25mw from what I have seen.

The max power depends on what band you are using. As I understand it the 25 mW limit only applies to the 5.8 GHz band. A 200 mW 1.2 GHz video link should be legal.

And on top of that there are national variations. In Sweden up to 2 W output is legal on the 5.8 GHz band when used for "vechile telemetry". The 25 mW is for "unspecified purposes".
