No problems flying with LiPo's yet, the Qatar link was just to show that airlines are becoming more aware and Qatar are ahead of the game.
What is worrying is the drift towards high capacity 6S batteries for the likes of the S1000 and other heavy lift stuff. I've just come off the phone with a shop, they cannot source batteries this size and import them as a business. They are having to source them domestically.
So it does look like interesting times ahead trying to convince check in staff to let one on to the flight.

I was stopped at manchester on the way out to Finland.. They swabbed everything in my bag and wanted proof of what I was using them for. 6 cell are basically NOT allowed in hand luggage. if you do the calculation they go way over the single pack limit basically a 4 cell 5000mah pack is as big as you are allowed. 4 of them maximum per person.
