We recommend the Maytech Eagle Series to our customers. These are designed specifically for Multirotor with SimonK.
I thought the Harrier Xtreme were for Airplanes.
Do you have a model #?
Where were they purchased?
You should check with the dealer...... I know Maytech had to recall some ESC recently with BAD firmware. Confirm these are not under the recall.
Hi Andrew,
They were actually warranty replacements from an older set of Maytech 65A Optos from a crashed SJ8 when I advised Maytech it may have been an ESC issue, then sent me this new set and said it was QC'd very well, and it is for multirotor "MultiKopter (MTMK) Pre flashed with Simon K firmware "MT65A-OPTO-HS-MK" OR "MT65-OPTO-HE-MK" I think they're the "HE" I was dealing direct with Maytech Sales & Tech, and they assured me these are for heavy duty MR with Simon K latest firmware and their newest batch.. Should I be worried?? What motors would you recommend for a X8 config? I heard these don't like T-motors? KDE is my high dollar option, any other ideas?
Thanks so much for your time..
Sounds like they are HS- Harrier Supreme-MT65A-OPTO-HS-MK. I know of many who used these prior to the Eagle release. Sounds like your in good shape.
Motors should have proven track record with these ESC.
What size motors are you talking about? These would pair nicely with T-Motor MN-3520 or Avroto AVL3520 as these are tested pairings.
If selecting KDE, I recommend that you confirm (in writing) with them that this ESC is verified to work with the selected motor.
No matter what you chose, I really recommend confirming with the Motor & ESC manufacturers that these ESC are approved & Tested with the specific motor.
We ONLY recommend manufacturer recommended & TESTED pairs of motor & ESC as this is the ONLY way to be certain of manufacturer support.
I hope this helps.
Hi Andrew,
Can you recommend a good motor prop combo to use with these ESC's, I want be be able to fly a GH4 or a Canon 5D3 on MoVi 5, in an X8 config.
Budget is becoming an issue.. Any advice would be appreciated.
Many Fly a Jib 8 with 3520 motors & 15" t-Motor CF props on these ESC. This was the "workhorse" before motors started being offered in high efficiency models. The only issue is shorter flight times compared to the newer high efficiency motor techology. Kloner has one of those set-up like this. You may wish to PM him and ask his advice & opinion. As this is not our product, I always see this as a "loaded" question as the actual manufacturer of the "system" should make the recommendation. You should ask the Mfg. of your frame for this recommendation.
I am VERY sure that many on this forum can also offer suggestions.....
Forum?????
the harrier classic w/ simonK have been in my jib for over a year, few hundred flights with epics, never any sign of an esc problem and it's seen some abuse. It was the industry standard for a while, but then something happened recently that maytech weren't compatible with SimonK but now they are again or something.
