Great to hear that putting her on a diet made her more agile....almost like in real life :nevreness:
The small foot-print of a X4 (X8) compared to a flat octo seems the way to go....transportability IS a big issue in this game, I don't mind sacrifying a bit of "efficeny" and flight-time for the luxury of not having a wall cabinett to carry arround. Kratos will be just the opposite route....the goodies are on their way and should arrive Friday or Monday....Kratos + Box for Kratos + Box for Cinestar 3-Axis gimbal = 38 kg !!! Absolute overkill in terms of traveling, but a great personal fun-project.
As for vibrations, after trying just about everything possible, Moongel is the winner for me: http://www.rtom.com/moongel.htm
You can't use it in every situation, but wherever possible, it will beat everything else (I use it mainly between camera and gimbal, needs sometimes tweeking with mounting the cam)
Your post is a proof that all therory, ecalc and co. can't replace hands-on testing to find the sweet spot. I am busy at the moment trying to find the right motor/prop/Lipo/weight combo for the MX-X4 and the CX600........millions of possible combinations, and ecalc can only give you indications, but doesn't tell you anything about flight character.
