How to install led lights?

Hi, I wanted know where do I connect led strips to on my dji f450 ?

It depends on the voltage that the LEDs can handle and the batteries you're running for the main flight power.

The led lights are 12v and I'm running a 5000mah 4s

If the lights are rated at a hard 12v, your best bet is to install a cheap BUCK adjustable step down regulator.

I haven't used this one - but this will give you an idea. This was fancier with a readout. I just buy the typical ones by the 10 pack.

Just out of interest what is the worst that could happen if I connect them straight to the board without a regulator?

Straight to the power distribution board? The worst that would happen is the lights start to smoke. That's the end of the lights

Do you have a link to the ones you bought? Most would have a tolerance for a bit over 12v. But some don't.

Ok I think I'm going to get that regulator lol, I don't because I got given them from a friend

Best to play it safe then. They are cheap enough and come in handy for all sorts of things.

While the one linked is much smaller in size, it's also 8x more expensive than the ones I use, and only 6 grams lighter. So if you are looking for tiny, Oceans offers a good choice. If you are looking dirt cheap, and can spare the 6 grams, you can try THESE:
