Hoverfly Hoverfly Sport "reset"?!

Hey guys,

Ok, I just received my second Hoverfly Sport from a trade deal, and I think I know why the guy was so excited to trade.
It looks like he has flashed the sport to a different rom, which is why he thought it did not work.

I downloaded the Hoverfly Firmware client and attempted to flash the AV rom to the board.
The first time I ran the client I got to the "select mode" area and it had no mode to select.
So I plugged in the board with the usb cable and it made the "you are connected noise" but no lights lit up on the board and I could not select anything.

After many attempts I found that the board would let me do something when I selected "ZtestNS".

This was the only selection that would go to the next screen.
I have a feeling the guy flashed the rom with this.
Is there a way to reset the Sport to the factory rom?

I know the board will be awesome as my other sport is once I get it set up, I just need to get it working!

Ahhhh trading... ya gotta love it.
;-)

I see what is happening. I'll have it fixed in an hour or two.

Try flashing now. You shouldn't have a problem.

Well the flash worked.
It said the rom is flashed successfully. But I still have no leds or beeps.
Tried to hook up a battery and got nada.

I'm starting to think this guy did something to this board, as the other board was so straight forward.
I'm going to disasemble the rig and ressemble one more time to make 100% sure I have everything connected correctly.
(although I am 99.9% sure) if that fails, I'd be interested in sending in the board to be checked out.
I can only guess what this guy did.

This should be obvious, but the boards issue has nothing to do with Hoverfly, this has to do with a previous owner and what he might have done.
Just wanted to make sure that was clear.

What firmware version / mode did you flash? I'm sure it is a problem with your board, but I want to double check on our setup just to make 100% sure.

Does the sport have the infrastructure to accomodate for auto level in the future? It says it only has gyros but not accelerometers, I thought both were required to make a controller work. Any plans of adding this or have all the beans gone into the pro?

v1.0.0.37 flashed with the 3.1.477 AP Rom.

It connects and flashes the board but the board will not light up or rerspond.
I'm pretty convinced now it's a problem with the board. The previous owner messed something up.

Do you offer non-warrenty claim repairs? Obviously this was not a problem with the HF board in general it's a problem with the previous owner. (ERRRR!) , And I know the firmware updater is working as I just re-flashed my other one to test my computer connection and it worked perfectly, in 30 seconds just as it should.

REJOICE!!

So after thinking that the HoverFly Sport board I received in trade was fried I gave up and it sat on my desk for a few days.
I was updating Flyinggiants today and was kind of staring at the board.

I thought, let's give it the one last chance college try and I booted up my PC, plugged in the board and.. NOTHING.

The computer acknowledged that the board was there, but no lights, no beeps nothing.
I decided to try and flash it again just as a last ditch effort. (Remember I did this 8 times the other day)
Well I flashed it and... nothing... and then...

AND THEN...

BAM.. LED's BEEPS.. the board is back!

I slapped it into a small quad I had hooked everything up and I'll be darn.. she works just like she should!

Somehow leaving the board sitting for a few days allowed me to reflash the board and get the right rom into it. (The dude before me somehow flashed the wrong boards program into the rom!)

SUPER STOKED!

But now I have space for a new paper weight on my desk!

So the short answer is No. Let me explain. The SPORT came out well before the Naza and was just meant for sport flying around and for this you only need a gyro. At this point, it is not a popular product since for the same price you can buy a Naza. I still believe it flys better than a naza for sport flying but its a bells and whistles game in the hobby market.

I think the sport has a place in the market, and I think it does fly better than the Naza. Slap it in a plastic case, it would sell.
The ease of setup dwarfs the naza.
