Hello guys can you share your expos that you fly with your hfp??? Ithink that i need a lot of expo to smooth the machine..!!

I'm using the JR 9503 and I have a very healthy throttle curve between 30 and 80%. The expos are at 40%. Seems to be about as good as I need it. What's really amazing to me about what Hoverfly did with the sensitivity bar is that it flies really smoothly but still had enough authority at the end of my sticks to fly in 15+ mph wind.

I've got 40% on pitch and roll. 60% on yaw as it gives me a really slow yaw when required. i too have a healthy throttle curve I've flown my octo in 20+ mph and the it still rocks... you need to work at it but it will fly well.

Sorry for my ignorance. But what is a healthy throttle curve? Btw. my expos are to between 40 and 60%, but will have to go even higher for smooth video I think.

OK guys thats whati use tooo! Because i was hearing smooth smooth smooth and in order to do something smooooooth i had to add 40-60expo..!

a throttle curve makes the throttle less responsive within certain ranges. it takes some tweaking but what you want to try to do is flatten out the throttle curve around the point where your helicopter hovers. that makes the motors less responsive to small changes in stick position resulting in a less sensitive helicopter. there are likely thousands of forum posts on throttle curves for helicopters so just do a google search and make sure you let us know if you find a good one!

to be honest, my throttle is still linear as the HFP is easy to fly. tweaking the throttle curve is something that is nice to do but won't make or break your flying experience.

It depends on your setup too! I have 14x4.7 props..! Thats better for flying time but i think its a little more aggressive..! smaller props better flying characteristics..!

Thank you all. I'm aware of what the throttle curve does or is used for. Healthy was the word that I didn't understand. I suppose it's just curve that's flattened to a flyable (less responsive in our case) degree. And yes, everytime I adjust the curve it's more linear - I'm learning to fly obviously

wow that was a crazy first flight! wouldn't it have been better to learn to fly heli's with something smaller and with less power? where's the x-shaped sticks on the landing gear with the ping-pong balls? it looks like you got a handle on it at the end, just in time to land. lucky for you, eh?

I use medium expo, a dual throttle curve, but what I use the most when flying is a momentary throttle hold switch. This lets you do pans without effecting throttle at all.

I tend to fly pretty aggressively for my FPV videos so I have no expo or throttle curve but make very small stick movements. I guess I've just gotten used to that from helicopter days...
