Hoverfly hoverfly cases

I got a case of the Hoverflies and the only prescription is more cowbell!

Actually, I was working on a carbon dome similar to MK's gps but for the HF board hole pattern. Idea was more to protect it from direct rocks, sunlight, or any other harmful element. But it would still get dust inside and of course not be water proof but I dont think that would be the limiting factor in the event of a dunk.

I have the madlabs and like it. It's little heavy, but much better feeling than the board out in the open.
The spacing when paired with the GPS board was a little weird at first but I figured it out.

Is there any type of case out there that can house the Mediatek MT3329 GPS v2 module?
Would it fit in a DJI GPS module case? (if anyone has one that is broken, I'd be up to purchase the case and try)

I'd like to be able to place it in some sort of protective case if possible.

Somebody with a 3D printer could gimmy something up pretty quick???

I have one of the newer Mediatek MT3329 GPS v2 modules ordered and should be here any day. Once I get it, I'll let you know. May even purchase the Hoverfly GPS units you have done up as well. Amazing how that 3D printing works hey !!!

If I knew that Hoverflytech would implement external magnetometer I would not create HF GPS unit cover. I just bought external mag. and I am about to create cover for it.

So I think It is bettter if you wait for ext. mag cover. I guess it would be cheaper solution and more neat.

Mediatek MT3329 GPS v2
37x37mm - length x width
32mm - center of hole-to-hole across
45mm - center of hole-to-hole diagonally
8mm (10mm to be safe) - height of center module
5mm (6mm to be safe) - length x width of center module
4mm (5mm to be safe) - height of connector

As kloner mentioned, I like the Hoveryfly top GPS cover.
Be nice if this module could fit in something similar.
I need to mount mine on a 16mm round tube, nothing a few few boom clamps and double-sided tape cant fix for attaching.
If the module was in-cased in something ... wonder how the signal would perform inside of something? issues?

Krzysiek, created these various items below for the HoverflyPro/GPS and Mediatek MT3329 GPS v2 module.
They look awesome, I have the stacked items ordered, and will let you know if they all fit perfectly once they arrive.
Same goes for the MediaTek module.

I wanted something to protect the Mediatek GPS module and be able to mount pretty much anywhere.
The stacked items, I was hoping to place a piece of carbon fiber between the Pro and GPS to hopefully ...
... cut down on the
on-board compass on the HoverflyGPS pickingup EMI from the on-board electronics of the Pro board.

... I placed an order today, will let you know how they all pan out

... Thanks Krzysiek

AWESOME

so whats the diff between the gps cover and gps cover light?

tell me more about your CP antennas...... is that working? 3d printed? ant basics is the higher freq like 5.8 would have a super thin element. maybee that with a plastic cse might work better. love the idea
