I don't know if i'm a dying breed.
It's true that MK had an innovation Backlog up until about a year ago, but since they introduced the ACC-Z for better Altitude Hold, as well as the external Compass Module, which is inevitable when you want to lift more then some hundret Grams, they caught up with DJI Wookong fully. Personally I try not to dive into Platform rant's, so DJI gives good results, too, and does what it should. Every system has it's weaknesses and strengths..
There are some things, that makes the MK perfectly Fit my needs: Open by design, developed without a rush and - imho a good Enduser as well as Community support (even if I never really was in the need for that). With the MK Tablet Tool and a Rangeextender it's perfectly easy to onsite plan and operate waypoint flights, Telemetry possiblities are outstanding as well as available 3rd Party Hardware Options like OSD or intelligent LED Controls etc are result of that open Software Ecosystem.
The possibility to run redundant Setups (Dual FC, Dual NC) makes it even more interessting those days. As far as I know it's the First D-Grade platform that got licensed by Austrocontrol. Maybe this Option will play an important role in the future, when stronger regulations might come to germany as well (which I don't favor
).
I had 3 crashes without a full loss with MK's since end 2007, one broken BLC an some props, all result of my own mistakes, that made me learn..
. Besides that the Platform runs very stable (for me happy Airborne some 3000 Minutes now..).
so long,
mephisto
