Hoverfly HF Gimbal direct to joystick and switch.

I am connecting my HF Gimbal board directly to a joystick and knob boxes from Servocity. How do I connect a three position switch if I do not have transmitter/receiver?

Are you sure you don't mix a few things up....?

Whatever set-up you have, you need a Transmitter and a receiver. The Hoverfly board (and any other Flight Control) needs to be connected to a receiver.....If you move the gas stick forward (just as an example), your transmitter is sending this command to the receiver and then the connected HoverFly board knows what to do with this signal.
If you are using a joystick, you have to connect your joystick (mostly via trainer port) to the transmitter, and the transmitter passes the signal from the joystick to the receiver.

There is a thread about this joystick stuff:

Just checked your links, but from what I see there are the servos (or Hoverfly board) directly connected......how you are controlling the aircraft once you are up in the sky....?

You can either use another joystick or knob, and mark the spots you need to hit to achieve the right setting as if it was a 3 position switch.

One of the robot shops must have something like that. Have you asked servocity?

It should be a pretty simple circuit to use a three position switch to send out a fixed PWM signal at each position. ...not that I would know how to do it though.

I will do some experimenting

I'm glad I stumbled on this thread. I was about to bring my av200 up in a real helicopter the other day and at the last minute I realized without the radio I would not be able to tilt the camera down! This would be a great alternative. Thanks

Set your pitch servo to "Angle Velocity" under Transmitter/Receiver control in the Servo Configuration menu. Then you don't need a switch and will always have tilt control.
