Vibration/ Shock isolation is a science best left to the professionals.
Our design was a cooperative effort with a MAJOR full size aircraft component vibration/ shock isolation firm.
It cost some $$, but it was tested to specific load & harmonic ranges in their lab.
I laugh when I see the Flood of isolation systems that are on the market.... many just seem to copy an existing design... and select systems of unknown manufacture or specifications that LOOK similar.....it looks the same so it must work the same......NOT!!!!
When working with our consulting engineers, the ball style isolators were selected by them.....as opposed to many other offerings... for specific reasons with specific material composition. Additionally, they were tasked to keep the system as compact as possible.... much smaller that many we have seen. this was by design.
I will give one Freebee away......
The key is to provide isolation for a specific range harmonics (usually minimal on a well tuned aircraft) , but most importantly.....it must be stiff enough to prevent the camera & gimbal from bouncing with air turbulence, aggressive winds or flying... this is the difficult part getting both to happen. Funny enough.... sometimes things are better with no isolation at all.....

Love them or hate them, that is why DJI has been successful IMO. All components spec'd to work together including their gimbals. Andrew, you make a hell of a product and if some listens to your (or SleepyC) advice in regards to what motors, props, batts, etc...you should have an awesome experience since you've gone through the painful and $$$ process of building a rig that works. When talk about harmonics I would imagine it could vary if someone uses different motors, props, batts (4s vs 6s) you'll get a different harmonic since the motors will spin in a different rpm range. That's where I seem to struggle when I purchase good gear that may not necessarily work harmoniously together...

There is some truth to the range of harmonics seeming to be wide, but the consulting engineers quickly isolated the "natural" wavelengths (I believe this was the term they used), but do not claim to understand their science..... and began their designs & testing....
If I remember, the motor & prop size were not as important as the RPM range and the frame harmonics.....
Stiffness is a BIG plus.....eliminating additional resonance.... I believe that is how it was explained....
But the REAL challenge was dealing with SHOCK to the system as opposed to aircraft vibrations...
They made me look like an idiot.... and quickly had all of the calculations & began testing to prove out what they had calculated.....
Damn.... these guys are VERY smart..... and knew EXACTLY what to do and specify......
Just call me Forrest Gump!!!
As mentioned earlier.........some things are best left to the professionals....

10,750 Grams, about 23.5lbs.

That weight is with (2) 10,000 6S packs, and I fly for about 10 min landing with around 33% left in the batts.

And for what I usually do, (1 - 2 minute flights) this gets me around 8 flights per battery set.

For Cub Cadet recently I flew 58 flights in 10 hours with 5 sets of batteries, (charging when needed ) and never had a delay.
