HELP: Need Opinions on the possibility of different SimokK firmware?

So last night I finished programming my octo and started to test out the motor direction.
iPeaka 30am esc's (SimonK) on 800kv T-motors.
I did the SimonK throttle calibration and got the beeps.

6 motors start perfectly, and 2 start at about 1/10th throttle.

It just so happens the last two esc's I installed were ordered from a different shop and were installed last and these are the ones starting late.
There is nothing on the packaging or on the ESC that I can find that designates a firmware ver.

Has anyone had this happen? Are there different versions of SimonK that would calibrate differently?

It seems like the motors catch up and match the pitch once past 1/10th throttle, which is way below a flying throttle setting.

Any thoughts?

(PS: If I have to rip this thing apart I'm going to use a hammer)

Yup, had the same thing happen with the same brand ESCs from different batches, most likely due to low quality components with a wide range of tolerances batch to batch. If I recall there are some tweaks you can do in the code to change the parameters for the ones that lag to make them equal but I never tried doing it. All I did was increase the motor idle (DJI Assistant software setting) so that it was high enough for all the motors to be spinning at the same time. Not an ideal solution but it worked in my case, eventually I swapped all of those ESCs out for a full set from the same (I presume since they all worked the same and came in the same parts order) batch. The oddball set I broke up, using the 4 that worked the same on a quad and eventually finding a pair that matched the laggards for use on another quad. Another quirk was if you stopped the motors after getting all of them spinning and then tried to restart only the ones that started early would spin up regardless of what I did. Had to power cycle the entire thing to be able to restart all 6 motors once the hex had been off the ground.

That said, make sure you have the absolute latest version of SimonK firmware, these things tend to crop up and get fixed as they're found so it may be that there is already a fix if you don't have the latest version. Lately I've been reflashing Silabs ESCs with the BLHeli firmware and getting much better results than with the older Atmel based and SimonK firmware. Can't wait until the standard becomes 32 bit processor based ESCs but that appears to be a ways off right now...

Are you calibrating them all simultaneously?
We build a 1 in 6 out servo cord. Hook to RX & do all at once.
You would obviously need a 1 in 8 out.
I am not sure this will fix your issue, but this is the way we do it. This way it is reading the stick throw to all the same, no chance for any errors or irregular output from the stick.

I too run blheli and works much better than simonk for my use.

Do you know where to get blheli compatible 40a 6s escs?

These should work fine, sign up for the email stock arrival notice, or just order them and wait for the back order to be filled, usually doesn't take more than a week or two from my experience... http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__2165__TURNIGY_Plush_40amp_Speed_Controller.html

I've been thinking of swapping my Cinestar 6/WKM over to these and going to 5 or 6S batteries after reflashing though that might require swapping out the various BECs I have powering different things on the frame, don't know if any of them are rated for anything higher than 4S.
