Help me diagnose a bad motor

Testing X8 for first time today, 1 of the 8 motors had spasms instead of ever turning. They are Tiger 2814/770. I plugged the bad motor into another esc and it still didnt work. I plugged another motor into the esc that was powering the bad motor and it turns fine. I re calibrated throttle and programming...everything checks out and leads to a faulty motor. I just want to make sure I am not missing something silly. Have any of you had this symptom with a bad motor before ever flying it? There must be a phase shorted out. Mechanically the motor is perfect.

there's probably a bad phase in the motor. mechanically, i'll bet it's perfect.

I was just seeing if anyone else has had this issue or if there was potentially something else to blame that I wasn't thinking of.

just busting your chops....i think it's a bad motor. send it back to the guy you got it from and demand a replacement.

The guy is kinda a weirdo. I might just throw them out and buy some OS max brushless motors.
