I've been fling smaller Blade helis for about 4 years.
Stepped into an MQX then a 180QX.
Have been flying the 720p cameras...

Am contemplating a DJI 900 purchase this spring.

Welcome! You might try stepping up to a F550 before moving into a DJI 900. Get familiar with the bigger electronics and dynamics of a larger size multirotor first. The 900 is a big bird, and it flies a LOT different from a heli, small or otherwise.

What kind of camera are you wanting to fly, given that you want to go to the 900?

Good advice.
I have been leaning toward building a DJI 550....thinking also about the Align M480.
Initally flying a GoPro....
