Been into RC since I was 6 35 now got an AR drone at the CES launch went through a ton of those finally got a few Blade quads :Mqx, NanoQX,18, 350 bult a DJI 550 with Naza v2 and Zenmuse with go-pro alonf with a travel 450. Controller of choice is a dx9. Looking to build a medium frame sky hero Y6 Spy..but need some help with motor/esc selection....

I am sorry that I have not welcomed you to the site! We have a very good group of folks here!

I am building my own F450 with hopes of FPV/AP.....there is a group build going on in the beginners section you might want to look into.

ESC's and motors are a PAIN in the ***.......check out http://www.ecalc.ch/xcoptercalc.htm?ecalc it will help you determine what you can fly with your multirotor.

PS I used to live in Stone Oak back ten years ago...that is where I got into Heli flying!
