Head tracker on a Transmitter for Camera tilt - DIY options.

DIY- Head tracker on a Transmitter for Camera tilt - DIY options.

Who has made a head tracker for gimbal control? And, have you mounted one to your radio instead of on your head? I found this thread about an open source firmware for a DIY solution I am considering.

I have been flying more and more AP gigs as a single operator. With this, I need to have access to smooth tilt function of my camera gimbal. With a Futaba 8FG or Futaba 14SG, there are no options for smooth tilt control. There are side sliders which are notched and two knobs which are also notched. Neither are practical for gimbal controls when filming video. So, I have read a bit about head trackers. I don't use goggles, so have now thought I would have the head tracker sensor mounted to my radio so I can tilt (or even pan) the radio to control the gimbal. Seems like a good option unless I can find a way to add a smooth slider I can mount to the side of my transmitter. (I have seen the 3rd stick modification, but too bulky)

Just looking for input before I start the project.
