Drink lots and lots of beer and smoke a big fatty before you go. They frown on that when you do it there for some odd reason.

I've been working on mine, kinda. I took an online practice test repeatedly until I could consistently get 94% or better while fidgeting around waiting for calls at work. It's the same questions. I bought a book that teaches me all the stuff I should know and I'm reading it, but I could pass the test now. You only have to get 75% right. I figured I oughta be legit for my FPV. I wonder what percentage of FPVers have the license or their local equivalent?

I want to go to a fpv meet here on the beach in San Diego 9-29, First Annual San Diego FPV fun fly over the pacific

so far, my understanding is i don't need it for the 2.4 video part i transmit, but i do need it for the 70cm band i'm flying on, ezuhf to be absolute legit as in crash, start a fire or have a close call with a full size and have the faa after you, that's when you got somebody pickin over what you are and what your doing. I guess it's a pretty big fine, but only ran into a few that have had accidents that ever got asked about it.

Kloner, I got my ham license years ago when Morse Code was still required for most decent classifications. Still, it wasn't that hard at all. With all of your experience with FPV and LR UHF radios I can't imagine you wouldn't be able to ace it out.

It can certainly help you out if you have an "incident". But I think it's also good from a prevention perspective as well. More awareness of the spectrum and who and/or what occupies it can only be a good thing.

Good luck to you sir!
