I would still look for a gp2, I've seen some fantastic deals in the local craigs list, or wait and see what the summer new camera season brings and pick up a gp3b used.
The problem with the gp3b's is there isn't one thing or one combination of settings that crash it, it's just random, it'll all get worked out. I still don't care to fly my 400$ camera around when I have 3 perfectly fine gphd's that never complain and always let me rewatch how crappy my flying is.
