Gimbal Trouble

Hi, I'm building a gimbal for my quad. I bought BGC 3.1 controller and connected everything up. It worked for a while and then stopped. I ordered a second which similarly worked and then broke.(On closer inspection one of the micro processors on Motor 1 output has a small hole blown out of it) Does anyone know what the problem is and or the best controller to get without spending a fortune?
Many thanks
Angus

angus,

have you considered the Centerpiece by Phobotic? It's had some early issues but I think they're on their way to getting them worked out

it doesn't love having the landing gear attached to the camera gimbal as the Mōvi has, fwiw

Thats an amazing bit of kit but too expensive.
I am only looking for a gimbal for my GoPro.

are the motors too small or too big for the board? is high current burning up the component or possibly a short somewhere? weird that the same thing has happened twice

I just checked out specs and wiring and it seems ok, i think it must of been a short, maybe touched something. I need to be a lot more careful when handling electronics. Thanks for your help, it will be good to see what other people choose and how it worked out for them.

The Feiyu Tech 2 axis has been pretty reliable for me and this is from a guy who has pissed away too many hours of his life messing
with the martinez boards and the alex m boards-both the real ones and the fake ebay ones and just wanted something that smoothed out my crappy flying a bit.

The Feiyu's are plug and play with the gp3 series cameras and I think you can fit the gp4's in also.
In fact I'm fixing to buy the 3 axis version from GotHeli in the next couple days

The zen is still the king of go pro gimbals though, especially if it's paired with a dji fc. The footage always looks so perfect imo. They just get a bit pricey if you're not using the other dji hardware with it, has well as not being able to use the gimbal for anything but flying.
