GH4 Owners - 12MP Photo issue

Attention GH4 users!

When using the GH4 for photos if you plug anything into the HDMI port (ie: the HD Zenmuse gimbal) the camera automatically changes from 4:3 16MP to 16:9 12MP. The difference in quality is very noticeable.

There is no way around this. I've talked to Panasonic and explained the issue. They said if enough people complain about it they will address it in the next firmware.

Please comment on this post (I will be sending the link to them) or even better, complain about it directly to your support center here:

It's a really annoying issue that can easily be fixed by firmware.

yep, definitely is an issue that need addressing.

+!, I just got a GH4 and am astonished that there isn't a choice to shoot other than 16:9 for stills with the HDMI plugged in. There are many circumstances where you might want to shoot the full 16mp, even when it's not mounted on a multirotor.
