Anyone using the FY91Q + GPS?
At under £300 could be perfect upgrade for my Gaui, since Gaui's promised GPS expansion has not materialized yet.

do yourself a favour and read a bit of forums on rcg or on malaysia-rc.com ,which should be their "official" support forum....
their product is a good idea, probably from a hardware point of view it is well made... but the firmware basically isn't ready yet.. we have all been waiting for months for a promised upgrade but everything has gone silent from them.. they don't respond to angry customers any more on their forum..
download the user manual (which took them 7 revisions i think before they got it right..) and their "parameter setting manual" that was released only months after they started selling the product and that basically explains NOTHING ...
i don't have the gps unit, luckily i saved that part of money.. the flight control is totally mad and very very sensitive to minute changes in setup.. every time i took off trim was all over the place and had lots of toilet bowl effect. Then , to top thing up, it has auto level that has a mind of its own; even if you keep giving forward stick input, after a couple of secs the craft will stop and you need to give more stick input.. its a constant fight, there is no way you can do good smooth filming with that crap at the moment. Its ok for photo work or for fun flying, i had a few good flights just for fun, but if you need precision, forget it.
it has been collecting dust in the last weeks, don't think i'll try to bother with tweaking it until there will eventually be a new firmware from a company that i think is going down by the looks of things...

Very interesting, I saved a lot of money then.

If you think that was bad take a look at their camera IMU.

you don't necessarily have to spend loads of money to get things working.. i am pretty satisfied with my multiwii setup, sure it isn't supersmooth and you can't lock the craft in the sky, but it behaves consistantly.
i think biggest problem with fy91 is software.. if they can manage to stay afloat, in the next months they could get it worked out, they simply rushed the product to the market before it was ready, and with strange "features" like a RTH function that required craft to be in steady hover for at least 2 seconds before engaging RTH, meaning you can't use it in a panic situation.
I just wish they went open source with their software so at least someone can finish the work. But they have been silent for at least 3 weeks now.. nobody knows whats going on..
