F550 with AG500 flighttimes

I have a F550 with Askmans AG550 gimbal.
Complete weight with a Sony Nex-5n is 3,3kg


With a 4s 5100 pack I only get around 6minutes flight time (about 80% of capasity).
I really hope to have longer flighttime than this.


What kind of batteries and how are the flight times on your F550 with gimbals and camera?

I too am curious about flight times on the f550. My Xaircraft DIY Hexa (similar frame size like the F550, but lighter) with Avroto 2814/11s and 10x4.7 APC props gave me five minutes of flight time without camera and 4 minutes 45 seconds with Sony Nex 5n and cheap gimbal. The total weight of my craft fully loaded with camera, FPV, and 6000 was just shy of 7 pounds. Without all of the gear it was 5 pounds. I actually think six minutes is good on a loaded Hexa running one battery. Are you using DJI's motors?

I plan on building a DJI F550 with the same gear like my former Xaircraft Hexa (R.I.Ps.) [rest in pieces]. I think it's hard to achieve long flight times on craft with six or more motors.

Yes I have the stock dji motors.
I really want to increase flighttime. Any tips are appreciated. Bigger batteries will also mean heavier load. Anybody using bigger batteries with more flighttime? Is 2 packs better?

quite a load for stock motors. might consider evaluating motor upgrade and different props to increase the flight time.

I am using the Graupner 10x5 and they are working good. I also know that there are a lot of people flying with this setup. But what kind of motors do you recommend?
