f450 & DX6i new model require rebind?

i bought a used f450 w naza and gps, with a DX6i TX already set up to work with it. being a know-nothing about any of this, i can't tell how the previous owner set up the TX, so I thought I'd make a new model and program it according to this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOjGL2ASkQA. did that, but the tx now won't work the 450 -- no spool up and no love from the naza assistant. the original model worked fine, i can see it in the assistant and move the controls around. so what does that mean? do i have to bind the tx and rx again for the new model? if so, that's going to be a problem, because i don't have the binding plug that i think you need.

thanks much for any help you can offer!

In my experience anytime you create a new model binding is required. I am not positive, but the bind plug appears to just jump the top and bottom pin. Never have tested making a homemade jumper.

Meanwhile, new question ...

the used f450 came with the DX6i TX and the R6210 RX. But I also have a Flysky/Turnigy 9x with its stock RX. Given that the Turnigy has more channels, should I switch over to it? I gather neither rx has failsafe on board, so that's not a deciding factor. So, what would I gain? (And I don't plan to do any mods on the 9x.)

thanks!

IMO you gain channels you may not use. "I" would wait and see if you decide you want to add things. I am using an AR8000 and have open channels. I do have LEDs turned on by the RX though. :)

thanks -- that makes sense to me.

meanwhile, could someone have a look at the link in my first post, about one guy's way to set up naza and failsafe using heli mode instead of acro, which i gather is how most people do it. does his way look okay?
