ESPRIT MODEL ANNOUNCES JETI DS-16 CARBON

The DS-16 Carbon represents Jeti's new flagship, State-of-the-art, transmitter that sets a new standard for the RC Industry. Jeti’s final touches and finishes are outstanding. The front panel of the system is made of genuine Carbon Fiber with UV stabilized acrylic clear coating and the case made of anodized, CNC cut, solid aluminum.

This revolutionary, digital, 16 Channel, 2.4GHz, frequency hopping radio system is fully designed and manufactured by Jeti Model in the Czech republic. This is one of the most advanced radio systems on today's market. With their solid CNC aluminum case with a fully integrated antenna, a mini USB port, built-in speaker, headset jack, metal transmitter gimbals with Hall sensors (4096 step resolution) and 9 ball bearings for precision movement, a large 320x240 backlight display and many other features the Jeti DC/DS-16s are sure to become the new standard in transmitter performance.

One of the attractive features of the Duplex 2.4GHz line of products is it's full integration with all Duplex telemetry sensors. You can easily observe up to 40 different parameters in real-time directly on the transmitter. Or, by using the JetiBox Profi (sold separately) you can see your data in parallel mode giving you and your copilot valuable real-time information (see video).

One of the most important features of Jeti's transmitters is the gimbal and switch function assignment flexibility. With the DC/DS-16 you are free to fully customize your radio. You can swap switches or sticks (Mode 1-4) and the on-board computer will recognize your changes and assign functions anywhere you like. Other important functions are programmable Sounds/Alarms and even user-recordable sounds. This audible alarm feature was specifically designed to keep you informed while also keeping distractions to a minimum. We think this is the best way enhance both your enjoyment and your model safety. You can simply set a receiver battery capacity alarm for the desired capacity used and once that number is reached the system acoustically and visually gives you warnings

Ok, I'll bite. I can't tell if this post is for real or is tongue-in-cheek. I mean, the overall aesthetics of this thing is very 70's. Also, made in the Czech Republic... really??
Bart? Anyone?

it's completely real, a press release from Esprit Model. I've never used one but they've always been ahead of the curve in terms of features, programming, quality, etc.

It's funny how people think Jeti is the s**t, garbage as far as I'm concerned, fisher price radio. Just read threw some of the Taranis threads on the other forums where the Jeti rep was making an a** of himself. I don't deal with company's that are jealous of a better product then their own, and cheaper.

More insight into products you haven't experienced :)

thanks for your fine example of poor posting technique.

This thread isn't the place for a Taranis vs. Jeti showdown and unless you've got actual experience with the product being presented please restrain yourself. Taranis and Jeti are obviously two entirely different products so let's move on please.

Awesome Radio, best build and features I have come across, especially the telemetry. Owned one for 15 months...

+1, thanks for babysitting Bart. I like the form factor of this style of radio. And I have never gotten my futaba telemetry to play nice with my herk board. But also have been very impressed with the Frsky line of products in both quality and price. Don't think I'm switching just yet but would love to hear peoples real life experience with these radios.

pretty nice, so are you using a separate altimeter sensor? Have you used other TX to compare the quality of the D-16 to say a futaba or Frsky?

it's not my favorite part of the job but thanks anyway.

as we get set to revamp and roll out the new site, product information from vendors will show up more and be more prominently displayed. I ask everyone to send me their new product press releases and if we want access to the newest information we'll have to learn to let the less flattering comments slide. not to say we can't discuss stuff elsewhere but the product release threads really shouldn't be the place for it. it's just rude and will make it harder to get the info from the vendors after a while.

thanks!

Herk III has altimeter built in AFAIK... I have used Futaba and Spektrum radios before. Jeti TX is built like an industrial tool, you really need to hold one to appreciate it. The customization possible with this radio is superb along with custom voice telemetry.

I didn't mean to imply that the product was s**t in my OP. Heck, I've never even heard of it. To my eye it just sorta looked funky and that's why I thought Bart was posting something humorous versus real. Geez, I didn't mean to start a flame war.

fltundra clearly has something against Jeti TXs given his somewhat rude post in another thread. Ignore him. I have been using a Jeti now since the DS-16 came out. I wouldn't even consider a Futaba or Spektrum over it. I havent tried other radios so cant comment on Taranis, Graupner, Multiplex etc but for me, the Jeti DS-16, carbon or not is a hard radio to beat.

I have two DS-16 carbon and they are fantastic ! Intuitive programming, voice output on every important switches and telemetry (once you have it you don't want to give it up!), fantastic construction...

Also you get 100$ certificat for goodies on the purchase on a DS-16 at Esprit Model...

But not sure the +200$ extra for carbon line is worth it...

Also no Li-Po Rx batt coming with it as I seen in european sites or Jeti doc...

+1 on that HerkIII telemetry

I've kind of been looking at a high end radio. I'm a pinch flier and really like a nice tray. The Jeti and some of the high end Graupner radios look really good. Only problem is they are all missing one of the most important features for me. A rational implementation of flight mode control. A 6 position knob at a minimum, but 6 push buttons would be best. I have trouble dropping the coin on something that is missing such an important feature.

By using the 'Logical Switches' function on the Jetis you could use 2x three way switches to give you 9 filght modes if that would do the trick?

I already do that in my Futaba, and is sucks. It's already cost me one helicopter, lost in a lake when I flipped into the wrong mode. I would like to have push-buttons. So much so, that I ended up building a custom Tx from scratch to implement it. But it's build into a Pelican case and is more of a sit-down affair. I'd like something more portable. I'll probably end up building from scratch again at this point. You can see my first custom Tx in this video. The six buttons to the right of the left stick are the mode buttons.

Can you explain this more? Are you describing dual rates and flight mode, like GPS or altitude hold? I don't see what you would need 6 pos switch for?
