DX8 issues with NAZA IOC & Gimbal tilt

I have just completed my FW550, and am programming it. I have two issues:
First is I can't get the IOC to recognize my 3 position Flap/Aux1 switch. I have it connected to X2 on the MC, as indicated in the instructions, but it will not move through the 3 modes when I flip the switch. However, I noticed that when in the VIEW summary screen of the NAZA Assistant, the X2 bar moves to 3 different positions when I flip the switch. I have the box checked to activate IOC, but when I move the switch, nothing happens. I have tried Travel & sub-trim on the DX8, but nothing happens.

The other issue is what do I need to do to use my Knob/Dial on the DX8 to adjust tilt on my gimbal. I have what is being called the "eBay China Cheap" gimbal.:confused:

Easy? You call that easy?
It is the travel you need to adjust for the Aux 1 channel. Try again. Make sure the servo setup selects that switch as the control for aux 1. For the gimbal tilt, connect the gimbals tilt channel straight to a free channel on your receiver and again select the correct channel/switch selection. Read the DX8 manual. It's all in there, just takes time to absorb the information.

I have tried that adjustment.....does not move the pointer. In fact, all 3 modes stay black in color on the IOC page. In switch settings on DX8, Flap:Aux1 is how it is set. Interestingly, when I am in Switch setting on the DX8, I noticed that the 3 modes turn blue in color on the IOC page, but, as soon as I move to the DX8 Main page to make the Travel adjustments, they all turn black again. Very weird. I am all confused. Can't get the failsafe right, it won't calibrate, and when I put the blades on and tried to very slowly lift off, and she leans right. I need some serious assistance.

Mr take no prisoners!
From V3.xx firmware you have to do the compass calibration before you can do the IOC setup.

My MC is V4. I tried to calibrate but it fails when I turn the craft with the nose down. I tried basic and advanced calibration with no success. I just get the flashing red/yellow led.

Don't put the blades on! Get it working on the assistant first. Learn about the DX8. We all went through this stage. Read and wait for it to sink in.
