Droidworx frame motor heat sinks being made.

I'm going to be making a batch of motor mount/heat sinks for the droidworx frames. These have really kept keep my motor temps down from being hot to being warm at best. I'm attempting to get a number of interests so I can run a batch and keep the cost down. The design I'm working on is the same as this but with a number of more holes to allow for surface area and lighter weight. I have not noticed any decrease in flight times or abnormal effects from the air pattern.

Certainly this changes something inasmuch as flight characteristics are concerned, no?

Oh, and...how much? While I'm adding, might as well ask what types of lifting are you performing, what types of props, escs, etc...using thos Axi motors that cause the very hot temperatures that you're getting to warrant such an extreme heat sink? If I'm off on my reaction, please let me know. It very well might be great idea that I'm just not realizing...:).

I realise you may have good reasons for choosing this route - but it seems to me the wrong way to tackle the problem. If the motors are getting so hot that they need that kind of cooling then surely they are being driven way past their rated capacity? Providing additional cooling may only help to delay their premature failure.

I'm runing axi 2217 motors swinging a 12 x 4.7 prop, with turnigy 40amp controllers and a droidworx 4hl frame with gimble. Bringing up a cannon s95 and a gopro camera. Running a 4c battery 5.0amps capacity and can fly for 12min. I also pulled up a additional 5.3 pounds of weight the otherday with no problem at all so I can't see myself pushing anything with the two cameras. I want everything to stay as cool as possible so I'm attempting that with the heat sinks, the motors are mounted and islolated so this will let the motors get rid of heat. Also my motors did get warm last night with air temps in the mid 90's. I just figured that some people would be interested in these, and if not no problem.
