I finally sold the Vuzix video goggles on ebay and ebay is charging me 10%!!! paypal will take another 3% so that's a 13% commission to sell a $235 item. deduct shipping and I'm down over $30!
it's no wonder they call it fee-bay.:mad::mad:

AKA Satan's swap meet, I found out some time ago there isn't much on fleabay that I can't get elsewhere and often for the same or less $. I'd never sell anything on there because you're pretty much locked into using PayPal for the financial piece and they're about the biggest rip off going next to ebay itself.

I know of a large 'brick and mortar' auction company that charges a buyers premium of 15% and a sellers commission of 10%. I think the others are similar. <shrug>

ebay was fun when it first started but they've gotten more and more greedy while the site has become a clearing house for chinese junk that doesn't fit in the walmarts and harborfreights of the world.
there are few areas of the site anymore where private sellers are the majority.

I know what you mean Bartman, sold my old G5 on there and almost fell over when i saw the invoice! There are apparently 18 million items on Ebay at any one time and if they were all being charged what I was then it's going to be hell of a christmas party at Ebay HQ!
