Does Pixhawk do Carefree/IOC Mode?

Bartman

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
Does anyone know if the Pixhawk will do a simple Carefree (Intelligent Orientation Control for you DJI folks) Mode? If so, what is the mode called so I can go find a link as to how to set it up and use it please?

Thanks!

Not so new and improving
I think Simple or Simple Loiter mode is what you need. Cannot remember what the difference is off hand.

does either allow flying without reference to which direction the front of the heli is pointing?

I've never used super simple mode but I used simple mode quite a lot when I was first starting out. It worked great and I never had to worry about orientation.

Yes Bart, I was just reading on those settings, and the differences. However I too forget which is which, but it appears to be similar (identical) to the Naza DJI "course lock and home lock" BTW, just had my second IRIS+ delivered today! Now I'm not so scared to try the "auto" stuff. No need to send $500 worth of camera and gimble up for testing only. The second one will be setup with short legs, and a Mobius.

Just don't fly "behind" the take off point in Super Simple mode. Operator confusion with control orientation is assured if you do.
