Hey guys!

First post here, so please be kind.....

I have just ordered a DJI Phantom and I cannot wait to try it out. In the meantime I have been trying to read up on gimbal alternatives. There are so many different ones out there, and most comes without servos included. I am looking for something a bit more "ready out of the box", and was hoping someone in here could help me get started. I also just learned that the default Phantom controller comes with the possibility to control the gimbal via the so called 7th (+) channel? Has anyone tried this?

Best regards

Thanks for the welcome Dave! Much appreciated!

Do you have any idea what the cost will be approximately? This is an official DJI gimbal?

There are many 3rd party gimbals out there right now. Do you (or anyone else in here) have experience with any of those?

Magnus, this is the DJI H3-2D. It is near to release. Final Beta testing going on now. It was debuted at NAB in Las Vegas this year and there is a lot of video out on it. Here is the release notes from the DJI website: http://www.dji-innovations.com/the-introduction-of-zenmuse-gimbal-for-gopro-3/ The results have been impressive so far with the Beta units. The Productions units should only be better.

Here are some videos from a member here:

Empire and the other DJI distributors should be able to tell you the cost soon, but I've heard rumor of $1200-$1500 on some forums. Don't know how accurate that is at all.

Thanks for your reply Empire Support 2! I must admit that looks impressive, but I have never tried any gimbal myself. I was hoping for something not as pricey as this one though. Anyone using a existing gimbal with a lower price point?
