DJI overwhelm. Brain has melted. Please help.

I've successfully set up a 450 naza 2 using a taranis frsky, so I'm not totally brain dead. Just stuck with some basic understanding on my next project, which is a 550 Naza2, using:

1. iOSD mini
2. TS832 transmitter
3. H3-2D gimble

So a few really basic questions:

1. How do I ultimately get the video out of my gopro & onto the fpv display. When I bought all my gear, they told me that I would not need a gopro cable, that with the items above I already have what I need to do that. This is stumping me. Does anyone know how I get this connection (camera to the VTX)?

2. Do I need to use the 3.5 mm jack that goes into the CGU V1, or is that signal coming from somewhere else? If it's coming from this cable, how does it pull the vid from the gopro? through those black wires on the zenmuse. ahhhhhhhhhh!

3. Stupid question of the day: What is the damn iOSD mini? I bought it thinking it was a plug and play device to get FPV in the first place, but think it's just flight data overlaid on top of the monitor. Is that correct?

Any help or insight will be greatly appreciated. Gonna put this stuff down for a little til I can wrap my head around it.

Video from the GoPro is handled by the mount of the H3-2D (the rear connection to the camera, which also feeds the GoPro power). You access that video through the jack port on the H3-2D's GCU. From there you run the video to the iOSD mini (which, as you note, just overlays flight data). From the mini you send the video signal to your transmitter. Throughout, the video signal is just two wires (signal and ground, marked on the iOSD port as video in/out). You most likely will need to do a little cable construction (best to solder connections) to feed the signal complete to your transmitter.

Thank you. Do you happen to know when your using the gopro as the fpv cam (and recording), does it record just the video, or does it record the iosd data as well? Hoping no, I don't want the data in the video footage.

Also, does this sound ok:

IOSD into the Naza PMU, then the zenmuse CGU V1 plugged into the can port on the IOSD?

does it matter the order of the can ports into the Naza pmu, or is this similar to a USB port, where it doesn't matter too much?

The iOSD data overlay is added to the composite feed from the GoPro/Zen H3-2D which is then sent to the air end of the video transmitter link. The GoPro records only the original video, it does not even 'know' that the iOSD is there.

The connection order you describe is consistent with the mini iOSD manual. I don't think any other sequence is possible because the Zen H2-2D GCU only has a single port to connect to CAN-Bus, so it has to be 'last'.
